Welcome To NCSC Calgary

Nepalese Community Society of Calgary (NCSC) is a community-based non-profit organization established in 2004. It envisions preserving Nepalese culture and heritage and achieving the full potential of Nepal-origin Calgarians by integrating into the Canadian Society. It aims to build and strengthen the Nepalese Community in Calgary, promote and preserve Nepalese ties and partnerships with government, and non-government organizations, and improve the lives of community members. NCSC, in partnership with other organizations, provides support services to the vulnerable Nepal-origin Calgarians in different walk of their lives.

PROGRAMS

Nepali Pathshala

NCSC Nepali Pathshala is a community-based education center established to promote Nepali heritage, language, and culture among Nepalese children in the Calgary area.

NCSC collaborated with Danfe Sports Club and organized Youth and Sports Event every year. In total there are 25 plus Nepalese teams from all over Canada and 325 plus players are involved.

Help-Desk at NCSC

2022/05/10, Calgary Alberta

Operated by NCSC Staff and Executives in 2022, NCSC runs Help-Desk 7 days a week (9 AM to 4 PM) to provide settlement services to the needy community members including recent immigrants, and parents and grandparents in visiting visa/super visa program. Help-Desk provides referrals to the clients based on their diverse need. Services like making applications for the government programs, printing, resume and cover letter preparation, printing etc. are also provided by the desk.

Lunching NCSC Community Radio

2022/05/11, Calgary Alberta

In collaboration with Red 106.7 FM, NCSC Nepali radio has been airing weekly every Tuesday from 10 pm - 12 am since August 2018. Its aim is to increase socio-cultural awareness of the community members by covering news stories, issues on women, children, human rights activities, domestic violence, health, literature, nationalism, and Nepalese language and culture.

NCSC Resource Center

2022/05/12, Calgary Alberta

During the 2016 Annual General Meeting, NCSC board members passed a resolution of acquiring a physical facility. The main source of the fund for the physical facility is from Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), Province of Alberta, other sources comprise donations from NCSC members and non-members and donation campaigns to raise funds for the project since 2016. NCSC has officially possessed a commercial bay in January 2020 and the facility is now fully operational for the community to organize different activities per the need of the community members.
