About NCSC Calgary
Envisioning the preservation of Nepalese culture and heritage, and the full potential of community members by integrating them into the Canadian multicultural environment, the NCSC’s mission is to empower and engage vulnerable Calgarians, enabling them to showcase their innate potential and succeed in their lives. The current initiatives NCSC implements have been devised and refined through rigorous need assessment and stakeholder engagement sessions. These programs serve nearly 3,000 service users annually, achieving critical outcomes in social inclusion, mental and physical well-being, intergenerational and intercultural learning, anti-racism education and awareness, capacity building, and volunteerism. The NCSC has identified four key pillars in the organization’s strategic plan: promoting culture and heritage, social inclusion, building capacity, and service diversification. These strategic directions were defined and refined in 2022 during a strategic session aimed at making the community vibrant and enhancing social inclusion for children, women, elders, and youth. A key strategic priority for our program is to advance the community’s collective impact and drive transformational change that will have a more significant impact on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
