With growing number of Nepal-origin Calgarians and increasing social supports required for the vulnerable members of the community, there has been a need to identify institutional gaps, service delivery model and prepare strategic action plan together with the community members, experts and ethno-cultural groups. Different ethnno-cultural groups and functional groups (registered and non-registered) serving diverse demographic sections such as seniors, youth, women and kids will be invited in a half-day session in which all participants will interact, share their ideas and discuss ideas in breakout groups, highlight strategic actions to achieve community mission and vision, and bring their ideas on the table. Based on group discussions and presentations, a community action plan will be prepared that will serve organizational blue print to provide social support services to community's vulnerable members down the road.
NCSC has got a funding support from the Ward Funding Stream, The City of Calgary, to run Community Action Plan (CAP) session in 2022. NCSC will schedule a date, time and venue for the session and invite community leaders, executives, experts and students to have their input on the strategic session.
