EMBRACED Project
(May 2024- March 2025)
The project brings racialized and indigenous communities together in engagement and discussion sessions, awareness activities, multicultural arts and crafts, interaction and sharing sessions, and a day of multicultural showcasing events to foster multiculturalism and promote intercultural and intergenerational learning. Following the intersectionality approach, project activities engage racialized community members to expand their cross-cultural knowledge and increase their awareness of factors like race, culture, ethnicity, and religion that may hinder the full participation of the entire Canadian population in the economy. Open dialogues and expert interactions would also help participants get different perspectives about diversity and inclusion and develop their respect towards each other. The project activities will promote anti-racism and multiculturalism by breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, fostering understanding, and creating a more inclusive and harmonious society. A day multicultural showcasing event aims to bring multiple communities, including the Indigenous community, on the same platform to showcase their cultures, arts and crafts, food, and cultural performances, and it facilitates interactions with visitors from different cultures, thereby expanding cross-cultural knowledge.
